1.  Overview:

Biotin, also called vitamin B₇, is one of the B vitamins. It is involved in a wide range of metabolic processes, both in humans and in other organisms, primarily related to the utilization of fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids.

2.  Principle:

The basis of the measurement is the antigen-antibody reaction. Antibodies are connected to the column and the biotin in the sample is extracted, filtered, and diluted, and then passed slowly through the biotin immunoaffinity column. The target substances bind to the antibodies in the column and the immunoaffinity column is then washed to remove other unrelated substances that have not been bound. Biotin is eluted with methanol and then injected into an analytical instrument for detection.
